Aggregate Loan Limit
Aggregate Loan Limit is the cumulative amount of how much a person can borrow through a loan program. Direct Loans have established aggregate loan limits. For instance, typically a dependent student can only borrow up to $31,000 of which of which no more than $23,000 of this amount may be in subsidized loans. Independent students and dependent students whose parent were denied Parent PLUS Loans can borrow up to $57,500 for undergraduate of which no more than $23,000 may be subsidized.
Graduate and professional students can borrow up to $138,500 for undergraduate and graduate or professional enrollment of which no more than $65,500 may be subsidized. Parent PLUS Loans and Graduate PLUS Loans have no aggregate loan limit.
